The Bandon Food Trail is a partnership of food producers, food providers and food-centred accommodation in the Bandon area who work together to create awareness and access to the best local food. Maps; referrals and events are its main endeavors e.g. The Pink Elephant launch event blew away even the most “experienced foodies” with the caliber of the foods on offer in the area and the energy of the people behind them.

The Bandon Farmers Market enthusiastically gets behind festivals and seasonal occasions by moving location and adding extra activities.

The town’s traders and community bodies’ work together to create engaging and innovative food experiences to keep visitors experience fresh and constant. E.g. Rebel Cork Week, part of The Gathering, hosted one of the largest International food events focused on the significant contribution of other cultures & nationalities in Bandon and this is set to evolve even more in 2014 (see Section 6).

Both Urru’s Annual Festive Baking Competition (since 2009) and Caulfields SuperValu new Baking Competition with Kevin Dundon have gained serious traction with bakers, especially younger bakers with entries increasing year-on-year.
